The Direct Drive™ motor is the defining feature of this grinder. By transferring power directly to the spindle, Kielder has removed the conventional gear system found in traditional angle grinders.

Built for the Workshop

Despite its heavy-duty construction, the Kielder Direct Drive™ remains compact at just 273mm long.

The durable aluminium headstock is designed for demanding workshop and automotive applications, while the supplied auxiliary handle can be fitted to either side of the grinder for comfortable right- or left-handed operation.

The dual-function switch can be used either as a conventional trigger or with the lock-on function, depending on the application.

Kielder TYPE18 18V Battery System

The Direct Drive™ Angle Grinder is part of the Kielder TYPE18 18V Li-Ion battery system, allowing compatible TYPE18 batteries to be used across the Kielder range.

This means you can add the grinder to an existing TYPE18 tool collection without needing a separate battery for every tool.

The TYPE18 batteries have also been designed with automotive use in mind and feature drainage holes in the base, helping fluids to drain away if oil or other liquids enter the battery area.

Available as a bare unit or supplied with a 5.0Ah battery.
